CatCaption (catcaption.com) is a cat photo sharing community. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account information — your username and email address when you register.
- Cat and pet content — photos, names, personality traits, and bios you submit for your cats and paw pals.
- Payment information — if you upgrade to a paid tier, your payment is processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status — your card details never touch our servers.
- Newsletter subscription — your name and email if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
- Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) used for security and performance.
How we use your data
- To operate your account and display your content on the site.
- To generate AI captions for your photos using Anthropic’s Claude API. Your photo is sent to Anthropic for this purpose and is subject to Anthropic’s privacy policy.
- To process subscription payments via Stripe, subject to Stripe’s privacy policy.
- To send you the newsletter (only if you subscribed) and transactional emails (login, password reset, pounce activity).
Cookies
We use WordPress session cookies to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking cookies are used.
Your rights
You can view, edit, or delete your account and content at any time via My Pounces. To request a full export or deletion of your data, contact us via the Meow At Me form.
